Clef De Zoo #1
"Sgt. Earl (Jay) Beatty departs for Fallujah in August. He repeats his mantra that insurgents will never take him alive. While he shows no fear, I can feel the dread sucking the air out of the room."
Clef De Zoo #2
Eerily quiet and peaceful, tourists peruse what may become Washington’s “Ground Zero”. “Duck and cover” has been replaced by “Go up for gas” “Go down for nuclear” as school children do the “Threat Level shuffle.” Capitol Police patrol DC as if it were Fallujah. One need not be a prognosticator to know what the future holds.
